I have always created, always loved art, music, reading, and writing. Born in Louisiana and raised there and Texas, I began reading and drawing at age 3 and developed a lifelong love of music, thanks to my dad, who was an amazing pianist and jazz saxophonist. He would take me along for his job tuning pianos and I would sit underneath them while he worked. I learned piano from him starting at age 7, began playing bassoon at age 10 after I decided piano was not for me. I've been blessed to be surrounded by art in all forms my entire life and never stopped playing the bassoon. However, reality has a way of encroaching and sometimes life happens while you're trying to get your act together...so here's where my journey has taken me so far:
Musician. Artist. Lamar University. Marine Corps. VA Beach. Camp Pendleton. Papua, New Guinea. Honiara Guadalcanal. Sydney. Mom of 2 Sons. Wife. Redondo Beach. Judaism. Beach Cities Symphony. South Bay Hands on Art. Breast Cancer Survivor. Leadership Redondo - Class of 2014 (Best. Class. Ever.). LV Rock n Roll Half Marathon. SUP'er. Destination Art of the South Bay. All while (usually!) having an administrative job. All these experiences, including childhood trauma, inform my life, attitude, art, heart and being - and while I could have used the tragedies which befell our family when I was a child as an excuse to "check out" or not deal or become a victim, I chose to use all of my experiences as more reason to enjoy life to the fullest, appreciate beauty and stay resilient. I hope that comes through in my art.
